Alicia Keys brandished a red Michael Kors Fall 2012 evening gown when she performed at the 2013 Inaugural ball. This look has inspired me to start a series entitled 'If V.S.O.P. Styled You'. In this series we show you how we bring the look to Very Stylish Ordinary People status.  So I totally love the gown, it's formal, attention grabbing, and classic red. It is also sexy without being raunchy in any way. So the dress is a great pick for Alicia and this is our focal point. Alicia's Hair: I would keep the part, but I would have added some black barrettes and pinned her hair to the sides, sweeping it to the back. Or maybe I would have added some classic flapper girl waves in a very subdued way.    Alicia's Earrings : I would opt for studs. Maybe a tangerine jewelled earring, maybe a big old diamond., or something like this:  Alicia Keys 'Other Accessories': I think I would put her in a choker necklace, one that had clear and white gems encrusted in it. It would rest above the crew cut neckline as not to detract from the dress' neckline. Alicia's bracelets: None Alicia's Nails: Classic Clear, Clean Alicia's MakeUp: I would opt for a warm, tanned look. So a lot of contouring, semi prominent bronzer, and a hibiscus coloured lip. The eyes would be warm and basic, so I would select eyeshadows with a brown warm sparkle, possibly blending in some Orange.  I love the back of this Michael Kors evening gown. |
